About Moira McManus
I am basically a self-trained artist, with the periodic guidance and instruction from Art Workshops and classes offered at Artist Associations here in North Carolina and Nantucket.
My training includes drawing and oil painting, in realism and abstraction, as well as color theory and composition. I have studied printmaking with Dan Whelden - Master Printmaker and John Carruthers on Nantucket, and with Ely Urbanski here in NC.
Working with color is most appealing to me, and I experiment with various genres to that end. Currently, monotypes are my choice. The monotypes are generally abstract, though often inspired by landscape impressions.
